Side channel analysis is an increasingly important tool in the security analysis of secure tokens such as smart cards, SIM cards, e-passports and future identity cards. Bristol is home to one of the world experts in this area, namely Elisabeth Oswald, and she is helping to share her expertise via this Open Source project.

Bristol cryptographer Prof Nigel Smart has been awarded a Royal Society Wolfson Merit Award. The awards are given by the Royal Society to 'individuals of
proven outstanding ability to undertake independent, original research'.
Only 25 awards are given each year and each award lasts for five years.
